A Home At Great Kneighton Will Last You A Lifetime

18 March 2015

According to independent research conducted by Censuswide on behalf of Countryside, what influences house buyers to choose their new home depends upon various factors not just demographics or age. One result highlighted that 52.5% of those polled have lived in five or more properties in their lifetime, due to various factors including not having enough space for their growing family. With this in mind Countryside’s new homes at Aura and Novo in Great Kneighton aim to provide enough space to last growing families a life time, as they boast a great selection of three and four bedroom properties available through the Company’s Part Exchange scheme or the Government backed Help to Buy scheme.

2,000 participants were asked by the leading developer to rate the importance of many factors, such as a home’s location, to identify what exactly makes them love the place they live in, or would want to live in.
Andrew Loveday, Sales Director at Countryside comments: “The homes at Great Kneighton have been built with families in mind, as our vision is to create a place that people will love and be able to live in and enjoy for the rest of their lives. We also hope that through the Help to Buy and Part Exchange schemes available at Great Kneighton we can assist our buyers during their purchase and help them move into a Countryside home with ease, which in turn will last their family a lifetime.”
The Arlington house design at Aura offers over 1,899 sq ft of living space arranged over four floors. A spacious open plan living / dining / kitchen area and cloakroom occupy the whole of the first floor, providing ample space for entertaining friends and family and up on the second floor are three generous sized bedrooms and a luxurious family bathroom. Encompassing the entire third floor the master bedroom with en suite and a private terrace provide the perfect retreat for parents. As security is a priority, the ground floor provides an integral gated carport with space for two cars, giving a secure place to park and peace of mind. A useful storage and utility area completes the ground floor.
With only two available with Help to Buy, The Maxime is a stylish example of the fabulous homes available at Novo, featuring an open plan kitchen / dining and living area with double doors opening out into the garden. Up on the first floor is a double bedroom and en suite, with two further double bedrooms and a separate bathroom. This property also features a private carport.
The Help to Buy scheme allows buyers to purchase a Maxime with as little as a 5% deposit, making the dream of home ownership more attainable. The Government will provide an equity loan of up to 20% of the purchase price, interest free for the first 5 years, which will cover the remainder of the deposit.
Each ‘lifetime home’ at Great Kneighton is completed to just that, a lifetime standard. This means the homes have been built with the provision for a lift and various other features that can become necessary as residents grow older, such as wide hallways and doorways for wheelchair access.
The excellent specification includes contemporary fitted kitchens with a range of energy efficient integrated appliances including oven, microwave, dishwasher and fridge/freezer. The luxurious bathrooms and en suites include white sanitaryware with chrome accessories and harmonising cream floor and wall tiling.
Once complete, Great Kneighton will provide 2,250 new homes and a wide range of community facilities, including a proposed health centre, shops, library, community square, sports pitches and a public art programme. A new 120 acre Country Park will contain woodland, four ponds including a 50,000m2 bird reserve, wetlands, allotments, playing fields for the proposed new secondary school, and a range of play areas, including an adventure playground.

Situated just three miles from Cambridge, on the southern fringe of the city centre, residents are already spoilt for choice with local facilities, including a nearby Waitrose, Addenbrooke’s Hospital and the Cambridge Biomedical Campus. There is also the Cambridgeshire Guided Busway and a Park and Ride service providing fast links to the city centre and Cambridge train station from where there are regular services to London’s Liverpool Street and King’s Cross stations, as well as to Stansted Airport.
